On the evening of Saturday 2 December, the Delegation for Lombardy of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy held its traditional pre-Christmas gala luncheon in the Salone delle Colonne at the Leonardo Da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.
The evening, which was graced by the presence of around 150 distinguished guests and supporters, was dedicated to raising funds for the award of a scholarship to a student at the Department of Design and Applied Arts – School of New Technologies of Art at the Istituto Europeo di Design. For the second year in a row, the Delegation for Lombardy has chosen to support the academic career of a deserving young person, underlining the importance of the future of young people.
The entire amount of the scholarship was collected during the evening, with special thanks to the generous support of Gr. Uff. Carlo Bindolini, in the memory of whose wife the scholarship is named.
The evening also saw the presentation of the diplomas awarded at the last General Chapter to those who, for various reasons, could not be present in Geneva.
After the diploma ceremony, the Deputy for Monza and Brianza addressed the audience and conveyed the greetings and sincere appreciation of Emergenza Sordi APS, a charity organisation, for the tangible support of the Delegation for the conference titled “Comunicazione segni e lingua dei segni – La donna sorda vittima di violenza” [Sign communication and sign language – Deaf women victims of violence], held in Monza on 25 November.
At the end of the evening, after the customary toast in honour of the Royal Family and the cutting of the cake, the guests enjoyed a musical interlude.
